It rained today!

Can I get a hallelujah! It rained all day long. Beautiful, soothing, healing rain, and it was amazing! The boys hardly know what rain is so they were excited although it took them a while to decide they really wanted to get wet.
Bowen catching rain drops
And then this happened- full blown standing in the rain in his turtle pool and he loved it!
Dad even got in on the action. He still is a kid at heart- and that's what makes him magical.
And at the end of the day I went and worked out then came home and made myself a yummy rainy day meal
Such a great day! I'm thankful

Labor Day

This labor day we joined our friends for some swimming and BBQ. Michelle and Joel have become very dear friends of ours. I love to have friends who are in the same stage of life and can relate to what we are going through. They have a cute little girl named Annabelle and a sweet little boy named Sam. So it's always fun when we're together--hectic at times, but fun!

and Tate with his duck bill

Now isn't that the cutest little face?!

Mornings

Tate is my morning person. He loves to come stand by my bed and wake me up with a sweet kiss. Then he's ready to play.
Bowen is more like me. He likes to wake up slow and quietly. He needs a little space and time before he's ready to party.
Here's a picture from last week. The night before we had played picnic in the living room before they went to bed. I guess Tate had so much fun that he woke up extra early to play again. It was the first thing he said when he came in my room, "Mama let's play picnic!".
As you can see, since it was first thing in the morning Bowen wasn't quite ready to play along so he sat and drank his milk while Brother prepared our picnic. Imagination is such a precious thing!

Last Glimpses of Summer

The last few weeks of summer have come and gone, well technically. But in Texas it stays hot until the end of October or so. So, we still play in the water and do our normal activities but we are so grateful that it's getting a little cooler. Here are some shots I took of the boys a couple weeks ago. Give these boys a water hose and some ice cream and they couldn't be happier.
Love his sweet smile, even if it does mean that he's rejoicing in finally getting his way and spraying everything but his splash pool.
 Bouncy boys
Bowen is my ice cream boy! He LOVES ice cream! One time we left his gate off his room at night, for the first time and only time, and at 6 am we here little pitter patter of feet and then we hear the freezer open and recognize the oh so familiar rattle of little hands finding the ice cream buckets. We laid in bed laughing and finally got up to go assist in the ice cream for breakfast fiasco.
He got messy so he decided to clean off. He thought it was too funny
and then he decided to splash brudder. Which was quite alright by Tate
and maybe he splashed himself too
Later we blew great big bubbles. I thought the boys would be crazy over this. Tate liked it for a little while but then they were easily distracted by bugs, sticks, and other "boy stuff". Which is quite alright, I sat and blew bubbles for myself!

And here's Tate's sweet grin! I just love this little boy to pieces! He has such a great big heart. He really is a great big brother to Bowen. I'm so proud of him already! This smile seriously makes my heart melt!

Couldn't be a happier Mama! My heart is full

First dentist appointment

AndBoys went to the dentist for the first time last week. Ill tell ya, I was so nervous! I thought they'd be in full-meltdown, screaming, tantrum throwing mode when the dentist got near! But to our surprise they did AWESOME! So awesome in fact, that I promised each of them a new toy when they got done. Tate insisted on the "blue costume" that he had seen with Grammy a week ago and Bowen chose a wiffle ball bat and cars.
Here's my little Iron Man in his costume! He just  had to wear it as soon as we got home (actually if I would've relented, he would've had it on in the store!)
Their check up was perfect and we will e going for another checkup in 6 months. Hopefully it will all go just as smooth as the first!
