35 Weeks and New Year's Eve

This week makes 35 weeks and more incredible is that we only have 30 days left until we meet little P! Things are still going great-more uncomfortable but I am getting more sleep surprisingly. I've only been getting up about once a night versus 3 or 4 times..YEA! Today I worked on getting more of his laundry done and packing my bag for the hospital. I still have a lot to do but the to-do list is getting shorter everyday! Tomorrow I plan on getting the dresser from Pier 1 and hopefully the crib will be ready and we can put it together! I will take some pictures and post them as soon as we have some good before and afters. Courtnie is planning to come up this weekend and we can get a lot of the decorating done. I'm so excited to meet our little man. I go through a range of emotions every day-between extreme excitement and anxiousness to meet our little boy mixed with a little bit of thinking "wait, we need more time". I now go to the doctor every week to see if there is any progress. Here is pictures from week 35.
Happy New Year's Eve everyone!! Trevor and I went to our favorite restaurant in Tyler, Bernards and now are at home relaxing and watching some movies and football. Thanks to everyone for making our 2009 so incredible! We couldn't be happier and know that 2010 will be even more amazing, crazy, exciting, etc... We love ya'll!!

Dresser Cunundrum

Honestly, I have no idea if that is spelled correctly haha.

I've found two options for the nursery dresser/changing table. I wanted something that I can use as a changing table but that we can also use as a dresser and something that is well built taht way we can keep it in his room as he grows. Here are my two options: Above is the one from Pier 1. It is good solid wood and well built. It is on clearance right now and is similar to the color of the crib-not exact, but close. I like the hardware on the drawers. The one in the store is in great condition and it would be move in ready.

This one is from the unfinished wood store. It is more expensive-especially if we have them stain it; however, that would mean it would match more closely to the crib. This means it would take longer to get and more expensive. It is well built and the biggest perk is that it is solid wood. We could also stain it ourselves and save a little bit.
The Pier 1 dresser is $40 cheaper and ready to go now than the unfinished dresser. I just don't know. Any suggestions?!

Baby shower photos

As promised, I wanted to put up some of the photos from my baby showers. I don't have all of them but a few is better than none :) I had such a good time and I'm so thankful to have so many amazing people in my life! A special thank you to all the hostesses-Courtnie, mom, Trish, Jenna, Shelly, Whitnee, and Tiffany-who put on such a special party for us. Love ya'll!!Diaper Race-it was hilarious! Tiff and I made a great team but were no match for Retha Higgins, the fastest diaperer in the West haha!Kitty is gonna be one unhappy little doggie pretty soon! She thought this was a party for her.

Some of baby P's sweet goodies! We really stocked up. Plenty of baby blankies, sweet clothes, some cute little red boots, stuffed animals, bottles, sheets, and other baby essentials. Thank you soooooo much to everybody who came. I've said it a million times before but I can't say it enough..We are truly blessed!

I have more pictures too that I will need to put up and from the baby shower in Houston that Courtnie threw for Trevor and I. More to come soon :)

Christmas Recap and week 34

Christmas was amazing! We had such a good time and luckily beat the cold front on Wednesday. It actually felt like Christmas this year with the cold weather! On Wednesday night we made it in and went and ate with the Probandt clan at Fuentes. Thursday was Christmas Eve and we spent it with my dad and Shelly. We ate good food (Paula Deen makes a mean ham!) and had a great time! I used my new camera from dad to take these pictures. :)
On Christmas day we woke up and ate the traditional Probandt gingerbread waffles and opened presents. Those were some delicious waffles! Then for lunch we went to mom and Dan's. Unfortunatley, we missed the flaming sweet potato casserole incident haha. Food was great (again...and this is why I gained so much weight over the holiday!) We opened presents and did our white elephant gift giving. It was even better this year because we got our lotto tickets that we brought-and won $100!!! We definitely came out on top on that one. I need to get pictures from mom's Christmas from her camera. I will also put up the baby shower photos (I know, I know, I'm a little late posting them but they will get on here). We are sooo blessed to have such amazing families!!! We couldn't ask for anything better and we are so grateful to have been able to spend the holidays at home-it's always a juggle and we wish we had more time with everyone but the time we do have is cherished! We love you all!

Mom and I went downtown to the alleys to take some pictures. Here is one of them. :)
Week 34 has come and gone. He is still growing rapidly-still putting on about 1/2 a pound a week. He now measures around 17.8-18" and weighs about 5 pounds. He is getting chubbier and his gums are getting harder. We now have the nursery painted and all the carpets have been shampooed. The crib is stripped and this week will be stained-hopefully, we will get it pretty soon. Over Christmas, Trish made the bumpers for the crib and they are ADORABLE!!! I love them. Courtnie might be coming up this weekend and if she does we will put up decorations. I will post some pictures of the room soon. There is a poll going on when little P is planning on making his debut. As soon as everyone puts in their bets I will put it up.

33 Weeks

Today Baby P is 33 weeks and 5 days today. My, oh my, how time flies!!! It is 44 days until the due date and only 23 days til he is full term!!! It is just crazy to know that he is almost here. I'm so excited and anxious! I can't wait to meet him! He is about 4.5 pounds now and around 17.5 inches! I was waiting at FedEx today and saw a measurement chart and couldn't believe that he was so long and all curled up in there. He must be pretty flexible! Surprisingly, lately, he has been moving a lot more which I love. It always makes me feel happy to feel him moving around.

Lately, I've been getting up a lot at night so sleep has not been the easiest. I'm usually tired now but I figure it is good practice for getting up a lot with the little one; although, I know it will be so much more worth it when I actually have my little man in my arms versus dragging my delirious butt out of bed to stumble to the bathroom. We took the crib in yesterday to a little old man to refinish and it will take him a month to complete. So, little boy, please hang out at least until then-or else you will be sleeping in a laundry basket :)

This weekend we are staying in town and going to a tacky Christmas sweater party on Friday night at Derek and Jenny's (pictures to come of this, I'm sure). Saturday, Trevor is going to go get a massage because his shoulder is hurt and I'm going to shampoo the carpets. The nursery is now painted a beautiful shade of blue and once the carpets are clean I will be able to move things in! The only things I have left to get for the nursery is a Diaper Genie for stinky diapers and a dresser/changing table. We got the crib mattress in-thanks Daddy! I feel like things are finally coming together-slowly but surely! On Sunday we will open presents from each other and celebrate our first Christmas as newlyweds! Our tree is sparsely decorated right now because I haven't hung some of the ornaments and I went to buy some more and most stores have only the ugly ones left :( So, I'm gonna have to work on that tomorrow.
I can't wait to go home on Wednesday-YEA! Less than a week!

Dr appt, painting, and our tree

I have started painting!!!! YEA!!! The first color we got was so light that you could barely tell the difference between the white wall and the painted color so I took it back to Lowes today and got a shade darker. It makes a huge difference and I really like it so far. I've done all the trim prep work and one full wall done. I'm hoping I can tackle the rest tomorrow! I will post pictures of my progress.

I went to the doctor today and everything is looking great. I'm still measuring a week behind but that's okay because I've been like that since the very beginning and doc says it is just the way it is for me-as long as I'm still growing at a steady rate we are good. I've gained 4 pounds since last time!!! It must be all that hot chocolate I've been drinking-thanks Trish haha :) I don't mind though-he's growing and that makes me happy. Plus, I know I will lose it once he gets here. My blood pressure was also good. I can't believe we have less than 7 weeks to go (or sooner-but hopefully not too soon).

We also bought our very first Christmas tree on Sunday and set it up! It's so pretty and it makes our house smell amazing! We've done some of the decorating but I will wait to post the pictures til' tomorrow when we've finished putting all the ornaments on! It's so exciting! I love Christmas and next year I will love it even more!

I will post pictures tomorrow!

To Do's

Only a little while left and there seems to be so much left to do. So here is a run down of our to do list before the big day!

  • Pack the hospital bag (this can probably wait for a couple of weeks)
  • finish cleaning, painting, and decorating the nursery (this weekend)
  • finish laundry for the baby
  • set up crib, swing, and the bouncer
  • shop for a dresser to also use as a changer
  • finish thank you notes
  • babyproof the home
  • get the crib mobile-or make it, we'll see how that goes :)
  • make the crib bumper
  • get carseat installed by the DPS
  • make birth announcements ready for after baby is here
  • clean and organize the whole house and garage

I will be working on these this weekend since we will be home but I'm not promising much. I've been so tired lately. I'm definitely carrying a lot more weight lately and I'm feeling it. Even doing dishes for a little while makes me feel like I've been lifting weights for days. I'm thankful though, for being 32 (almost 33) weeks pregnant I think things are going great! 52 days left

32 Weeks...8 weeks to go!

Well, I only have one belly picture to post today because I keep forgetting my camera. But I even brought it this past weekend to my second baby shower and still didn't get pictures! I was having such a good time I didn't even think to get it out. I will have to post all the baby shower photos over Christmas when I can get everyone's pictures. So, here is me at 32 weeks and 2 days. I feel like I've blown up!!
This weekend Trev and I were road bound. Friday, we had our Christmas party in Grapevine at Farrina's Winery with Arthrex. Food was decent, but let me tell you, the area that the party was held in a very cramped room that had tons of expensive-very breakable-antiques. First of all, get a bunch of rowdy, and mostly large guys drunk and around anything fragile is not a good idea. But then get my big belly around it is just asking for danger! Luckily, only one dish was broken and I was not involved! We went to the Glass Cactus after dinner but not for long. We retired pretty early to our hotel because we were exhausted.

We woke up pretty early on Saturday to head to Houston. On our way down I-45 we decided to make a pit stop in College Station to see the Junk Gypsies! I was so excited since I haven't seen them in a good year. They were having a sale near North Gate with some vintage Dixie Chicken goodies. I was able to see everyone and introduce Trevor to them. He finally got to put names with faces. They are so talented and have such big hearts! Trev was even able to get me some Christmas presents :)

We got to Courtnie's apartment that afternoon and got ready for the party. She made an awesome chicken Florentine lasagna. It was such a good night. Good food and good friends that I haven't seen in a while. Leslie, Zac, Sadie, Micah, and Sam all came out to celebrate with us. I'm really so very blessed to have such an amazing sister to do so much for us and great friends who love us enough to come out and support us. We reminisced about old times..Trev definitely got to hear some of our interesting trailer park stories. Everyone even got to see little P move around in my belly. By the time everyone left we were all so exhausted that we crashed.

On Sunday, Trevor, Courtnie, and I went to catch breakfast and then went to Pottery Barn to get a couple of last things I need for the nursery. We finally made it home last night after being all over-but we couldn't complain! I'm really hoping this week/weekend we will be able to clean the nursery up and down and paint. After that we will need to set up the crib and get some of the other furniture set up. I'm so ready to start decorating!
54 days to go!!!

Week 30 and Thanksgiving

Last week was week 30 of my pregnancy and also Thanksgiving! I love Thanksgiving-family, good food, and football! And while my Ags didn't win, it was a really good game! We ate Thanksgiving lunch at Trev's parents house and then went to Shelly's and watched the game with my dad, Shelly and Trevor. The next day we woke up at 3:30!! I know this makes us crazy but Black Friday has an exciting appeal. Even though this year we didn't really have anything to go for we still decided to brave the cold and massive amounts of people to find deals. We got some good things but I'm still not sure if it was worth waiting in line at Target for. That night Jenna and Courtnie made cake balls-which by the way, are DELICIOUS! I watched...and sampled :)

Week 30 was interesting but unfortunately, I had a stomach ache..nothing unbearable by any means. It was more of just an annoyance. It was high up and just an ache-not cramping or anything that felt serious. I waited until Tuesday morning and it still wasn't gone so I called the doc to find out with I could take OTC. The nurse wanted me to come in just in case so when I got there they hooked me up to some monitors. At first they just wanted to see his reactivity and I guess he was asleep because he was pretty sluggish, so they gave me some Dr. Pepper and crackers. I was hooked up for about 30 minutes before Dr. McClintock came in and once he did he looked at the charts and didn't seem too happy. He kept me on for another 10 minutes and then came back and told me that I was having contractions!!! WHAT?!?? I didn't have any pain at all! So we ended up having to do a test to make sure that he wasn't coming early. Everything turned out okay. I guess I was just dehydrated. I'm trying to make sure that I'm taking in enough fluids, but its still pretty hard. I'm just glad that he decided that he will wait for a little while longer.

I will post pictures of both week 30 and week 31 belly photos and baby shower photos this weekend when I visit Courtnie.
