Big Day!

Today Tate stood up all by himself for a good 45 seconds! He was so steady and then he decided he was done and squatted down and then sat himself on the ground to play in the dirt and crawl around some more. It was incredible! I was so excited.

And then...we were getting ready for bed and he took two steps from me to Trevor! They were little stutter steps but they were definitely unassisted steps!!!! Our little boy is just days from turning 1 year old and time has flown so fast! He's growing up and becoming a big boy!

11 Months

Although this isn't the best photo of him and his onesie I thought it was pretty cute!

I can't believe my baby boy is now 11 months and knocking on the door of his first birthday! Whoa!

At 11 months:

-Tate is so close to walking but is very intent on not...I don't know why. He can stand on his own and transfers easily and has really good control; however, he's just not motivated to stop crawling. Oh well, at his own sweet time.

-He weighs 24 pounds. We go back for shots on February 2nd :-( but we will find out more about his growth then.

-He will be having a cowboy party at The Probandt Ranch! I can't wait!

-He loves to play with other kids! He gets really excited when he gets to spend time with other kids in the nursery at Sunday school and when he goes to Mother's Day Out on Mondays and Wednesdays. I'm so glad he does because this is a much needed time for rest and relaxation for me.

-He is becoming such a ham. He will give you the biggest grin and giggle to make us laugh-especially when he's doing something naughty like spitting water all over himself.

-He's still wearing some 12 month clothes and lots of 18 month old clothes.

-He loves to be outside and around animals. He's actually very good at using soft hands with dogs and cats.

-He's eating all big boy foods and his favorites are grilled cheese sandwiches!

-He loves to have all the attention of everyone around him-especially the grandparents.

-He has 4 teeth still but I think he's teething again and hopefully we can get a couple more so it'll be easier to chew his food.

-He is constantly moving and doesn't hold interest in anything for more than a few minutes.

-He says a lot of syllables and he definitely is talkative but the only real things he says is 'mama' and 'baba' and 'dada'.

-He loves his sippy cup and to spit all over himself.

-He likes to drink the bath water although I try to keep him from doing it. If only he knew how dirty it was...ick! hahah

-He's definitely a rough and tumble kinda baby boy. He will head butt and likes to roll and wrestle. He's very strong and surprisingly tough.

-and...I love him! He's definitely got his days that wear me down but just his cute smile, or when he hugs my neck, or really he could just look at me with his precious baby blues just makes me melt! I'm so blessed to have him in my life!

Silly boy

His new favorite thing to do....fill his mouth with water and then spit it all over himself! He thinks it's just the funniest thing (and actually, I find it very funny, too. But I can't let him see that too much or we would never have any dry clothes for the kid!)

He's such a ham! When I know he's about to do it and I tell him no he gets the biggest grin and does it more! Silly little thing!

I love them both so much...how cute are they together?!

Oh Baby...Gender Announcement Party

We went in for our big ultrasound on January 3rd. Trevor and I were so excited and we just knew it was going to be a girl this time-of course, this is what we said last time too haha. Mom also came for the appointment but wasn't allowed back but for the last couple of minutes. We told the sonographer that we wanted to be surprised so she stuck the picture into an envelope and we took it to HEB.

At the bakery we had them look inside the envelope and not tell us but to make a strawberry cake with white buttercream icing if it was a girl and if it was a boy to make a yellow cake with blue icing in the middle and also cover it with white icing. This way we wouldn't know until we cut into the cake. They did such a great job of decorating it! It was just too cute!

 Tate was making his guess.
He better soak up all this attention. Nah, he will still get lots of love and attention even with a little one around. He commands attention ahhahah.
You can actually see my bump a little bit.
Aunt Jenna and Uncle Ryan playing with little man before we ate dinner. He was showing them how cool his tent was.

Right before we cut into the cake!
Here we go....what's it gonna be?!
 Blue frosting...IT'S A BOY!!!!
We had to check out the ultrasound pictures now that we knew. Mom was on the phone with Courtnie during the whole thing. I love that we all found out at once! It was a fun night and we are glad we got to share it!

Can't wait to meet baby BOY #2!!!

Christmas 2010 Part II

His new dump truck and legos! Woohoo

He wasn't that excited to actually open presents but he liked playing and getting into everything.

Awww...Gigi and Papa and little Tate

He loves horses! They are even good to put him to sleep. hahah-who knew?!

How adorable!

It was a little chilly so we brought him in and he was knocked out for about an hour!

My precious baby!

Gigi feeding little man.

He preferred her ginger bread men over the baby food. Surprise, surprise hahah

Finger lickin' good

He loved the reindeer

...and the stairs! He is a fast little crawler

Playing in the mirror with Aunt Steph

Naked on his new toy! He's a happy boy

This was supposed to carry around legos but it works for him for a while, too I suppose. haha

We celebrated Christmas at the Probandt's on the 28th when we got back in town and Eric and Stephanie got back from their Christmas vacation in Wyoming. We were very excited to get to see Cait! It had been far too long. We loved catching up, opening presents, eating gingerbread waffles, going shopping, eating Weinerschnitzel (not sure of the spelling), and playing Just Dance on Cait's new Wii. I love the holidays and we are reminded of what's truly important in our lives. I thank God everyday for the abundance of love he's given us!

Christmas 2010

Opening one of his first gifts from Grammy-a fun light up table!

He's a ham! He decided he would dig in the canister for his own snack!

He also decided it was time to start using a fork like a big boy

What an adorable boy! He makes my heart melt!

He was actually biting my lip right before this picture was taken. It was hilarious and yet strange, haha. I was red from skiing. I didn't get much time on the slopes but it was fun.

Silly boy

Shelly, Chase, and Courtnie before we left to get poor Dan to the emergency room after he had a fall and ended up breaking his scapula!

Beautiful views from the very narrow and winding road.

We stayed at Innsbrook and they had a great pond that we took Tate out for a walk to see. He loved the geese and all the ducks. I was very impressed with where we stayed! Well worth the money!

He never looks hahah

Silly little monkey..wait, I mean bear ;-)

YooHoo, I see you!

Hello bear!
Grampy being silly at bath time

He just might be a dentist. He likes to have his teeth brushed and he thought he would brush Aunt Cici's too!

CHEESE!

Dad and Shelly watched little man so we could go do a little gambling at the Inn of the Mountain Gods.

Grampy was acting like he was getting shocked by the little above and Tate thought it was hilarious! Shortly after they played for a while Tate just lie down on Dad's shoulder and just fell asleep-which is not a common thing for this kid. He was just tuckered out from all the playing!

Do it again!

Grammy came over and visited before we had Christmas lunch

Our semi matching jammies on Christmas morning

Baby's first Christmas!

I love his grin!

Oh my, Ryan! The Christmas vest and the pose are pure perfection!

Playing tag football in the street. We started playing on the golf course but decided to move to the street instead of getting hit with golf balls. Yes, I even played.

We had a good time

I bet you can't guess which one is from me and which one is from his Grammy! Geez Louise! haha

His new tricycle from Grampy and Nana Shelly and his lint roller I got him as part of his stocking. It's funny but he really likes them.

I was trying to get sugars but no luck!

The women of the trip

And the men

This is his new favorite toy! He loves this tent. He and Aunt Jenna had a good time!

Getting sugars from both directions!

This is after a very intense game of Mad Gab! These two are competitive to the core! haha

He's got a walking stick to ward off the bears

Just us

Playing in the snow

He didn't even act like it was cold.
The boys and their walking sticks

Would you like some jerky? haha
We had such an amazing time in Ruidoso! We are so very blessed to have had the opportunity to spend so much time with our families and we enjoyed every minute of it.
