The boys started school on September 2nd. It's a new school and I've heard wonderful things about it. We went to meet the teacher the Friday before and got to meet both of the boys' teachers and see their new classrooms. I was so excited to see that the classrooms are so bright, colorful, and full of happiness. Bowen's room even has a really neat little fish tank that they get to feed everyday. Bowen had to be woke up that morning and if anyone knows him, they know you DO NOT wake him! So he was a mess for his first day. He didn't want me to go and cried the whole time. But I knew he'd get over it. They told parents not to linger and to say a quick good bye and leave that they could calm them. I felt horrible but I knew it was the right thing to do. His teacher, Mrs. Christina, who is so gentle and calm and sweet told me later he asked about me throughout the day but he calmed down and had fun. He's doing better every time he goes. It's just a new place and a new routine so it'll take a while to get used to it. Tate on the other hand woke up and was ready to get dressed and go. I made a special breakfast of their favorite blueberry streusel muffins and off we went.

Seriously, I was starting to get a little emotional but with two wild guys (especially a screaming Bowen) I didn't have much time to do that. I knew they were in good hands and would learn a lot and enjoy their time at their new school. Let's just hope I don't have to wake up Bowen "aka Baby Badger" very often before school or we may have lots of meltdowns in front of us. I guess he gets that from his Mama.
Tate was ready to go like it was just another day for us! I'm so proud of my big boy!
Tate and his lovely teacher, Mrs. Kaley! I can already tell that he is one lucky boy to be in her class. She is a mama to two little girls with another one on the way. I think Tate loves that too because he's been a little obsessed with babies lately! She is very sweet and you can tell she loves her job and little ones.
Bowen didn't want any pictures but he did end up having a great day and was super excited to see me and especially Tate. I'll post more pictures when I pull them from my phone.
When I picked up the boys I brought them each a balloon and took them on a picnic at the nature center. I wanted them to have the best first day so they'd have fond memories and look forward to this year!
