Tate is 21 months old

Tate is 21 months old!

-He is 33.4 pounds and almost 3 feet tall!

-He wears mostly 2T clothing and size 6 diapers

-LOVES the park and anything outside.

-He adores going to the ranch to see cows, throw rocks in the creek, ride horses, and ride around the pasture. He also loves going to his Grandaddy's shop and play with chains and all sorts of tools. He enjoys going to the carwash and playing in the tunnel and with the vacuums! He's lucky to have so much at his hands for his entertainment.

-He is talking a lot! I love hearing what he has to say. He knows all of his body parts, can pick out some colors and will repeat their name, knows lots of animals, knows family's names, and loves to pretend he is on the phone. But, most of all, he loves the word "no".

-He has the most mischievous grin when he's about to do something he knows he's not supposed to do/get into. It makes me laugh.

-He's still so wonderful with Bowen. He's so gentle and loves to kiss on him and even asks to hold him sometimes.

-He also pushes Bowen around in his walker. Bowen loves attention from his big brother!

-He hates long sleeves and pants. It's often a struggle to get him dressed on cold days. He'll get used to it.

-He LOVES to play with other kids and does great with them. I think this has to do a lot with him going to mother's day out and playing a lot at the park.

-He is going through a phase of not wanting to eat as much at some meals or being particular with what he does eat. This has never been a problem with him before so I know it's just a phase.

-He usually falls asleep around 9:30 or 10 (we put him in his room after bath, playtime, and a book around 9..yep, it takes that long and sometimes longer for him to actually go to sleep)
He usually wakes up around 7:30/8.

-He has been very lovey lately. He will run up to me with his arms out for a big hug! It makes my heart melt! I love those moments!

I love you sweet boy! You make my world so bright and wonderful!

Pumpkin Time

Here are the pictures we took at the pumpkin patch close to Grape Creek. This is the same one we went to last year. In fact, I've posted pictures to compare at the bottom from last year.
My, how things change!

2011

Tate was more interested in the gazillion little kindergarteners running around. It was chaos. I wish we could've gone at a time where there wasn't as many people there because he was not wanting to even look at me, much less take a picture!

 sweet brother love

Now here was Tate last year to compare at the same pumpkin patch:

Oh boys

 Sleepy head!
ticklish!

Our Trip to Austin

Earlier this month my mom, the boys, and I went to Austin to visit Courtnie/ Aunt Cici! I was worried about the 3.5 hour drive down there but really it wasn't bad until about the last 10 minutes and Bowen woke up and decided he was ready to be out of that stinky old carseat. I've got to buy him a new one that he likes better (I'm hoping that will be an acceptable solution for him ahah)

We got there and Allison came over with her little boy, Calvin. Let me tell you, that little boy looks like a doll! He's so adorable! He is a couple months older than Bowen and has got such a sweet little smile and laugh. Mom made him laugh with a balloon and it was such a great belly laugh! It was good to see Allison and I was excited I got to hold little Calvin!

On Friday night we went to eat at the trailers off of Congress. It was fun and we got to walk around and look around; however, walking back to the car was a little more interesting-let's just say we took a detour around the neighborhood and took the scenic route to find get to the car. hahaha

On Saturday, we woke up and went to eat at the Egg and I. Then we drove to the zoo. It was worth the drive. I loved that the zoo consisted of all rescued animals. As soon as we walked in Tate was excited and ready to go. Mom found a bird that loved her and wanted her to pet it. I think Mom might be a bird whisperer. Tate loved looking at all the animals; however, I think he was trying to figure out the locks to let them all free. He also wanted to pet them. This only became a problem at the hog cages and the monkey cage. There was a monkey there that was a little territorial that really didn't like Tate being near his domain, to say the least. We had a great time but it was hot and so it wore us out. When we were leaving Mom saw the train. I told her no, it was time to go and about had to drag her out kicking and screaming! hahah
We also went to the outlet mall but had to make a mad dash in and out to get home so my ribs wouldn't be ruined. When we got home the whole apartment smelled like ribs (a little burned but not ruined completely).

On Sunday, we woke up and went to Whole Foods. I am in love with that place. It's the inner hippy in me coming out. We stayed for an hour or two and then went to Panera Bread for lunch. We got home and got ready to get back on the road. It was a great trip and I was so grateful Mom was with me. The boys are so little right now that it makes these kind of trips a little more difficult but definitely worth it. I loved seeing Courtnie too. It makes me want to move to Austin but I know I'd miss the family back home! Maybe someday...

I'm so behind on posting these pictures but here they are.

 Sweet little Calvin and Allison
We tried the faux hawk but it only stayed that way for about an hour! Cute though haha
 This bird LOVED Mom!
 Mom petting her bird
Tate looking at the snake! I kept telling him "OUCH" so he'd know not to mess with 'em if he ever happens to run into one.
Who said this was just for decoration...giddy up longhorn
 Who's your mama, llama?!
 Feeding the llama
 Us and the boys
Aunt Cici helping a boy out
Bowen was not so impressed. It was a little hot for him and he couldn't see well. Don't worry Bo, we'll go back again so you can see them too.
 Tate loved all the animals!
 RAWR
 Show em your claws
 Grammy, Tate, and Mama
Come here turtle, I gotta tell you somethin
 Quack
Grammy loves the zoo I think just as much as Tate
Whole Foods had a pumpkin display outside. It was an impromptu photo session
Grammy and Tate... he was not about to sit still and let me take pictures!
He was petting baby brother's head

I can't wait to take them on so many more trips as they get older! I've got so many things I want to show them and take them to...the aquarium, more zoos, Sea World, Schlitterbahn, the beach, hiking in the mountains, fishing in the streams in New Mexico/ Colorado, and all over! Being a Mom is the best thing ever!

Bowen is 4 Months Old

My sweet Bowen is 4 months old as of October 1st!

At 4 months:

-At his appointment he weighed 15.12 pounds and was 27" long. I looked back to compare this to Tate at 4 months and Bowen is 1 inch longer and 2 whole pounds lighter than Tate. I think he might be taking after the Tate side of being long and lean like his Grandpa. He was in the 96% for length and only the 67% for weight.
-He is very good with his eye-hand coordination and will reach and out and grab whatever he sets his little sight on. This includes but is not limited to: my jewelry (this is why I hardly wear any), any piece of hair, fingers (these go straight to his mouth), and toys. He also has a very good grip.
-He loves to be nursed to sleep. This is still a tricky situation trying to get him to sleep alone in his crib. I haven't made much progress on this; however, I do love snuggling with him- and hey, he's only little for a very little while. I'll just enjoy it for now.
-He loves his big brother and watches him. He'll laugh and coo at him too.
-He likes being outside and seems to calm down while we go to the park; although, he still would much rather me hold him the whole time vs being in the stroller.
-He LOVES to be held. He likes looking outward so he can see everything but he doesn't want to be put down.
-He coos and laughs a lot. He's ticklish too so it's fun to tickle him and listen to his gurgley laugh. It's adorable!
-He is wearing a few 9 month pajamas still but is now getting into some 12 month clothing.
-He usually takes about 3 or 4 short naps a day. One in the morning about 2 hours after he wakes up, 2 in the afternoon, and one in the evening. He usually goes to bed around 8:30 or 9 and wakes up a couple times in the night to use me as a pacifier haaha and then wakes up for good around 8.
-He is generally pretty happy and content as long as he's entertained and being held. The only times he gets fussy is when he's tired, hungry, or bored.
-He can almost sit up completely on his own. He's still very wobbly but has really good strength sitting his self upright. He likes to do this when being put in his carseat- which he hates, and in the bathtub.
-He's also starting to try to grab and pull his way on his tummy. I'm thinking he's going to crawl early, but who knows.
-He still doesn't have much hair and it's very hard to tell what color it's going to be be. I think it's going to be a dirty blonde. He also has a darker complection. His eyes are still very blue.

I'm loving every day with my sweet little one. I can't believe he's 4 months old already (I know I say that every month but it's true). I love him so very much and thank God for him each and every single day. I'm a blessed mommy!
