Tate Wayne

Our little angel is here! Tate Wayne decided to make his grand entrance on January 24, 2010 at 10:33 AM. He was 7 lbs, 3 oz and was 21.5 inches. I promise to give a full account and add lots and lots of pictures very soon. It is very busy around here-in a great way so the blog is taking a back seat for awhile until we get a little more settled. Here are some of Tate's very first pictures from the hospital. I think he is perfect and am so in love with him. Now, off to feed the baby!

38 Weeks and still no baby

Well, this week makes 38! He's still growing more and more every single day-I feel like I could pop at any minute! I'm not sure how much more stretching is possible. My appointment on Monday went well; however, I was hoping that I would get more out of it. I'm about 3 cm dilated and still about 70-75% effaced. This time during the internal exam he did a procedure called stripping the membranes. It hurt like all get out but he said that it could send me into labor at any time or it could still be another couple of weeks. I really thought it would work but it doesn't seem like the little man is ready to come out and face the world yet as we are still here. I think we are all ready-everyone has their bags packed and waiting on the word-I wish this little one was just as ready! All I really care about at this point is that labor and delivery goes smooth and that we have a healthy, happy baby...sooner than later would be great though! I've been tryin to speed it up some-Trevor and I go on walks a lot. On Sunday, the weather was nice-which was a welcomed surprise-and went to the Tyler State Park and walked 2.5 miles!!!! So, as soon as something comes along I'll be sure to let everyone know!

37 Weeks

I had my 37 week appointment on Monday. Things are going well. My blood pressure was a little higher than normal but nothing to be alarmed about-it was still in the normal range. As of Monday, I've gained a total of 35 pounds (oh my..thank goodness I'm looking forward to working out after the baby is born!) The big news was that I'm 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced!!! I haven't even felt the contractions but obviously we are chugging right along! The doctor said that we could go into labor any day now or I could go all the way to the due date-there's really no way of knowing. I think that it will be sooner than later though. I haven't been too miserable. I'm uncomfortable but I know it could be way worse!

Now we have the stroller set up, the nursery ready, laundry done, met with the pediatrician, and the swing is put together. The only thing I really need to do now is install the carseat and have it inspected at the DPS/fire department.

On a different note, Trevor was so sweet! He surprised me with my favorite sugar cookies with the fluffy addicting icing and a dozen pink roses. The cookies are all gone now-the whole box! I would like to say he helped, but I think he ate maybe 2 or 3.

36 weeks and NURSERY

Here is the belly shot for 36 weeks! Apparently it is only measuring like a "33 week" belly according to the doc. I'm starting to get more and more uncomfortable. Who knew that the little things were so hard when you're pregnant-doing dishes, laundry-at least that's my excuse ;) haha

Here is the start of our little adventure. Thank you Auntie Courtnie for coming to the rescue. Trevor and I would've gone crazy :)

These are the bumpers that Trish made. I love the fabric and they look great!

This is the cute little magnet board mom got for the room. It's too cute! I will probably put it somewhere else in the room but for now this wall needed some love.This armoire will probably find it's way back into the guest bedroom but for now this is the only place we had room for it. It works as storage for all his blankies and toys though.

The new dresser/changing table. I love it!I'm still going to add some different wall art, a side table, and lamp over in this area-but I didn't want to leave it blank. I'm still pretty sad about my curtain mishap; however, this is what I have for now. Courtnie put the stars I pained all over the ceiling. I think it is cute and adds a little interest to the ceiling-hopefully, he will be entertained by it.

So, there is still a little work to do-but overall I'm happy with it. I think he'll like it too! Now, I'm just ready to meet him and welcome him home!

Doctor appointment update

Had my 36 week check up today. Blood pressure and my weight were both good. When Dr. McClintock did the measurement I came up 3 weeks short! I still don't understand that-I thought I was measuring right on time last week...hmmmm. So, he was a little concerned and wanted to make sure Baby P was growing well. We did an ultrasound (I secretly love them because I get to see my little man). He is head down and measuring right on time if not a little bit above average (he's been this way everytime we've measured him). The ultrasound tech said that he is measuring at 6 pounds and 10 ounces! That seems so crazy to me! I can't believe the time is right around the corner! He said that things are great now that we see he is growing well. I asked him if this is a problem-we will continue to monitor my growth week by week and if I still measure small and it becomes an unfavorable environment for him (too cramped) we will discuss our options at that point. So, next week I will find out more about how everything is progressing and where we stand. The good thing is, that by Saturday we will have a full term baby! YEA!!

Big thank you to a great big sis, Courtnie. With her help, we were able to put the crib together and finish decorating when she came up this weekend. Unfortunatley, all my hard work on customizing the curtains did not pay off in my favor. After about 3 hours of work on both panels I put them up and realized that one panel was floor length and the other is NOT! GRRRR....so I'm gonna have to take down the curtains in the living room and use those as side panels and use my customized one panel in the center of the window. There will be pictures to come tomorrow.

I still can't decide whether or not to get 2 things- a bassinet/sleeper to put in our room for the first couple of weeks and baby monitor. His room is so close to ours and I would like to start him off in his crib. However, I know this will be rather inconvenient for feedings and I will probably be crazy protective those first couple of weeks and would not be comfortable with him in the other room. I'm just not sure if it is worth the money. The monitors would be good-but another cost for such a small house. I guess I'll figure it all out and it might just be a look, wait, and see kinda thing.
